The Reading Nook: Children's Books Corner

In honor of black history month, we read to you this special book. We may look different from the outside but we are all similar from this inside in more ways than we realize. It teaches us that irrespective of how we look we are all so very special in our own ways. 

There is a difference between a leader and a boss. In this children's book, we learn exactly that. Using our little animal pack, the author has provided this life lesson using a hilarious anecdote on a construction site.

Goodbye's are always hard especially if you are having so much fun with your special visitor. This one is for my sesame street fans out there. 

Elephant and Piggie books are one of my favorites. I love how Mo Williams has shown us that a no problem is as grave as it looks. Also sometimes the most complex problems may have the simplest of solutions.

Sharing is such a hard thing to learn especially at that young age and especially when it comes to sharing your very favorite toy, book, or in this case sweater. What we forget is sharing is a way to express love and kindness towards one another. It's a trait we are not born with it is a trait we learn as we grow. Happy Sharing.

This year has been particularly tough for both kids and adults alike. This beautifully written book reminds us how little acts of kindness go a long way. 

This playful story makes bedtime a little more fun for mamma, papa, and little bear. With a  game of hide and seek and a side of chocolate cake this story reminds us that a bit of sense of humor does not hurt at any age.

Little blue truck is a wonderful short story about the power of friendship and kindness. It also teaches us that all of us may look different and have different strengths and weaknesses but when we all come together we can solve even the difficult of problems together.

This book is great to add diverse characters to your children's book selection. It talks about children's curiosity and how adults can participate and encourage it. It also teaches us that our learning paths may be different but that does not define what we can achieve in the end. Let's explore together.
